Greetings!

We pray that all is well with you!  We have had a lot of activity since Junior has gotten out of the Hospital. His leg is doing much better by the way, and we want to say thank you if you prayed for him.

Knowing that the mother’s of the LH children have many needs, we had a tea party for them.  They got very blessed with the time that Junior ministered to them and having their children serve them.

Encouraging them to be like a tea pot that is used for the Lord.  A tea pot that is used every day is very worn out and always heated up. Rather than that type of tea pot that is so beautiful that it just stays on the shelf for its beauty. It never brings for a wonderful smell nor does it bring smiles of satisfaction after breakfast. It always stays cold and alone and useless. To be a tea pot used by the Lord…let their lives bring a sweat aroma, giving of themselves everyday.  The mothers each sat down to a coffee cup, each different and unique such as they are.  As their gift, they each took their cup home.  It was a wonderful time of ministry and a good opportunity to love on them.

This next month of July we have plans to do some fixing up on the LightHouse Recreio. We will be painting, organizing our administration, adding new activities for the LH kids, etc.  We also are exited to be enrolling more children in the LightHouse by the beginning of August, maintaining our goal of 80 kids. God is so good and His faithfulness endures FOREVER!

We really do need your support to continue to keep the LightHouse running. Please pray and see if the Lord places on your heart to give a love offering this month, which we are really needing to open for next semester. We still need to buy school supplies, writing boards for the classrooms, uniforms, etc.  Any donation you can make, is greatly needed and appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

Junior & Stephanie Feitosa

Inviting You to the LightHouse

Chi Alpha Team
Teams like Chi Alpha from Dallas, not only brought encouragement and hope to the children, but us as missionaries and our LH team.

Have you ever wanted to do a little bit more for the Lord? Getting ou
t of your normal routine and reach out to affect another persons destiny?

I never realized how selfish and consumed to myself I was until I went on my

first missions trip. My eyes were opened to a new world of needy people that, I, in the state that

Teaching them for a better future.

I was, could make a HUGE difference in their life. I saw that not everyone was as blessed as I was. Even though I was just a sheltered, single, naïve, 19 year old who spoke only English….I saw that I could touch many live for the Lord. And it was super FUN!! I’ve always loved a good challenge.

Giving love to those who are rejected.

We would like to invite you to come to Brazil this year and be a part of our outreach to minister to more slum children, churches, and men’s rehab centers. You would be hosted in our home “Lar da Paz” with comfortable bedding and good Brazilian food.

Life Point Church
Mission teams are not part of the LH for just 10 days-It’s for a life time friendship!

Extraordinary people have steped into the darkness and made a difference.
Ten Years Ago…Mariana Estephani

When we first opened the LightHouse Recreio Mariana, with lice and hunger, was one of the first kids. Her father is an alcoholic who eventually abandoned the family, her mother a druggy. All 5 children came into the LightHouse. For years these girls would come and knock on the LH door asking food, facing neglect and abuse. Their mother even got to the point of giving her girls out to pay off her debts. At the LH Mariana received Jesus, and got a good foundation of the Word with us. Today she lives with her aunt and is in College Mariana is studying economy. She loves the Lord and is very active in her church. PRAISE GOD!

Missionary Madison

Last year was one of the most difficult years for us as a family.  Mostly in the area of education for our children that were in homeschooling. With some learning difficulties, we prayed for someone to come and help us in that area.  Well, Madison, a friend of my sisters, who I had never met, came to visit us in September.  Madison ended up staying with us for these last 6 months.  Being a missionary to the missionary kids, helping us in homeschooling and in many other things around the house.  She was a great blessing to us here and we are thankful to the Lord for the time she had to serve here in Brazil.  On another note….the kids are now in a Christian school here in our city Betim.  They love it! But please keep them in your prayers because they are now studying in Portuguese for the first time.

Times have been rough here and we need more partners like you to join together in prayer and financial support with us at the LH to reach the lost.

Please contact us in you are interested in bringing a team or joining one. Or if you want a reference.

Thank you for your prayers!

God bless you!

Sincerely,

I’d like to share a story with you about Jose Antonio. Less than 10 years ago when we opened the LightHouse Recreio, we would go throughout the slum areas and look for children in need.

We found a large but very old home with very dark rooms on the inside. It´s walls all blacked from wood burning stove they cooked on because they were so poor.  We found on an old couch Jose Antonio, almost lifeless and frail with a grey tone to  his skin. His eyes hollow and hopeless with a glaze over them.  His hair britel like steel wool.  In every visit we did, this young boy of 9 was always in the same place with the same despair on his face.  As we became friends with this family we discovered what was wrong with this very sad boy.
A year earlier Jose had seen his father put a pistol in his mouth and kill himself. Both Jose and his mother saw this happen.  For one year Jose had not spoken a word and he was practically dead on the inside.  And was not eating properly.
Bringing Jose to health
As we daily took a health shake to him, and daily prayed for him, he slowly started to come back to life.  Once he could stand up we got him to the hospital discovering that he got tuberculosis.  Once Jose was better, his request was to play at the LightHouse.  After seeing the wonderful miracle that the Lord did in Jose´s heart and body, it was a great big deal and honor to have him come into the LightHouse!!  For years Jose studied the Word of God at the LightHouse and is still today strong and walking with the Lord.  His whole family has come to know the Lord as well. Including his mother is very often helps us at the LightHouse.
We are so proud to see the good fruit that came forth in Jose Anothio.  He has graduated and now works for the city picking up the trash on the streets.  It may not seem too glamorous, but it is to us, knowing that he is now the man of the house, taking care of his family.  We are so proud of Jose Antonio, to see the love of Jesus shine in his eyes now!!

Gathering of Friends Around the World!

This month we have had the privilege and pleasure to host some of our missionary friends from around the world.

Pr. Tom, our CFNI (from 1996/7) friend came from India.  We ask that you join with us in prayer as he faces many trials to serve the Lord in India.

Pr. Johannes (from Holland), our missionary friend from Guinea Bissau, Africa.  Please pray for him has he directs a hospital and children´s home. He always gives a good laugh, as you can see.

Pr. Rene, our friend, a missionary from Bolivia.

It was great to have these 5 countries (including Steph) in our home to fellowship and encourage.  Realizing that we are all going through the same trials and struggles.  Seeing that there is an urgency to seek God and his Holy Spirit power even more for our survival on the field.

Happy Anniversary LightHouse!
10 Years Celebration

our family

Greetings friend!

Wow! How time flies! It has been 10 years serving the Lord here in Brazil.  Oh, how we are blessed as we reflect back on these years to see all the good things that the Lord has done in our lives and the lives of those around us. We praise God because of His great faithfulness and His promises that He keeps with his people.
Firstly we have seen how our family has been blessed with Natalee and Peter, who are the best of all the LightHouse kids!  Natalee, who is so beautiful…having a hunger for the things of the Lord and a missions heart for people at the age of 11.  Peter, who is always keeping an audiance with a smile and laughter. Rarely with shirt and shoes on- living his childhood to the max!
Secondly, we have seen how the Lord has grown our spiritual family! We have labored a lot, cried many tears, sweat a lot, driven a lot, listened a lot, hurt a lot, given up a lot of personal pleasures, been betrayed a lot, built a lot, BUT GOD…has been with us through it all! And He has made it all worth it.  If it was just one life that was touched and changed in these 10 years, it is still worth to us, and I believe to Jesus also…because what if that one life was mine! For one soul it is all worth it.
On December 17th we are inviting everyone who has been in the LightHouse since 10 years ago to our celebration. Having an evangelistic crusade at LH Recreio.  Please join us in prayer and in celebration on this date.
Thank you for your support and partnership through these years!!
We pray you have a blessed day!
Sincerely,
Junior and Stephanie Feitosa

LightHouse International
Dear friend,

This semester we are so excited to see the NEW

things that the Lord is doing in the LightHouse Recreio. Ten years ago these very kids came in as students. Now they are today’s leaders here. (Starting on left to right). Samantha takes care of the kitchen and organization of the house, Sue Ellen is a teacher, Solange is our new teacher, Kata is anther teacher, and Daniel cares for the grounds, gate, and dog. And Sonia who is not in the picture is our spiritual education director.

our team

We are so thrilled to see our own kids walking in their gifting, working in the ministry with us. Please keep us in your prayers since we have such a young team that is going through this shifting that is uncomfortable. Yet we see once again that the foundation here is the Lord and not of man.

We pray that you consider partnering with us, if you’re not already, in prayer and financial support. Our needs continue as we disciple approximately 80 kids in LH Recreio this semester.

Grandpa’s 90th Birthday Party!

The whole Feitosa family just got back from a 900 mile trip to Mato Groso do Sul. Where we celebrated Junior’s grandfather, Pr. Rene’s 90th birthday. Pr. Rene is the oldest of 26 pastors in the Feitosa family; Junior, being the 14th pastor in the family. Not too hard to figure out what Peter might be when he grows up.

At his party, the first word of this great man of God was, “Church, for you to stand strong; husbands you must care for your wives and then also you children. If you do this you will have a strong church.”

The Lord is doing great things in our family now. This family has been blessed with a strong Christian heritage. Grandpa’s best gift was having his family all together!

The LightHouse has been truely blessed by the people that the Lord has brought to us to work with.  Two of our very dearest and most dedicated workers who have been with us the longest will be retiring from the ministery this month.  Bel who has been with us for 9 years, since we first opened LightHouse Recreio, will be leaving to take care of her mother since her father has recently passed away.  Bel has worked in the area of the community assistance, scoping out the different homes and searching for the families in need.  She was also our house director making sure that everying ran well, especially the kitchen!  With many children that were mal nurished, Bel always had someone to take care of. We love Bel and are so thankful for the love and dedication that she has shown throughout these 9 years with LightHouse. She came into the LightHouse as a very quiet and meek person as a lamb. But the Lord has turned her into a bold lioness as she worked with us to save many lives of children that were lost and in need.

Bel and Maristele

Maristele is the other worker that is completing 8 years of work with the LightHouse. She also is leaving to care for her elderly mother that needs her. Maristele came to us with a crushed spirit, had been very wounded by the church that she had served so faithfully before she came to the LightHouse. As she worked with us these years we have seen God do a beautiful healing and growth in her personal ministry as a teacher. We will miss both her and Bel very much.. They will forever live in our hearts and the hearts of the children that they have touched.

We praise God for the next generation of kids. We have 6 of our own kids, now youth, who are now leaders running the house with us. Five of them have been with us since they were small kids. A true leader trains others to take his place once he is gone. Glory to God the work continues!

Pray with us that the Lord will bless Bel and Maristele for all they have done. And that the youth with us will fulfill their calling as they serve the Lord at the LightHouse.

Thanks for your prayers and support for us here!!

One Bite of Sin & It’s Hard to Stop!

pastedGraphic.pdf

Jason just doesn’t believe! Pray that he will!  Can God Change Jason’s Homosexual Lifestyle too?

Since you last saw this picture, we were praying for Paulo, Right? It is time to pray for JASON!

pastedGraphic.pdf

Being extremely hard for me to find love or forgiveness in my heart for Jason (knowing that he greatly influenced Paulo into the homosexual lifestyle and being Paulo’s X-partner) I’ve asked the Lord to give me His unexplainable love to witness to him.

Every time I go to LH Papagaio I stop on the sidewalk to talk to him where he sits all day everyday doing nothing.  After weeks of showing him unconditional love, he has opened up to me. I have been so deeply moved with compassion for Jason! What an extremely sad and hopeless soul Jason has!   Oh God, have mercy on his soul!  My friend- I beg you to stand in prayer with me for his salvation.  That he may know the ever satisfying love of Jesus! He said he is unhappy, and never thinks of his future, believing that he is a nobody with no importance. There is one thing that he does know for sure, that is he wants to change his lifestyle like Paulo has.  Admitting  that only Jesus can make this change in him.

pastedGraphic.pdf

One day as we were talking,  Jason asked his young friend that was walking by if she was pregnant.  And she said, “NO! The day I get pregnant is the day that you turn into a MAN!”

I yelled back at her saying, “Hey, so be prepared to have 3 babies!”  She said, “No, God help me!”

I said, “He will! Just like he will help Jason to become a MAN!”

Pray with us that Jason will become an new creation in Christ Jesus!

Urgent Prayer Request

Samantha has just told me that earlier this week her little sisiter Riane (11years old) has been sexually abused by her school P.E. teacher, a 29 year old man.

Since this has happened the mother has taken all 4 of her children out of school (including Samantha) and now the police are involved.

Please pray that the Lord will turn this sad situation into something good like bring the family to know the the Salvation of Christ.

2006

Listen Closely to Samantha

If you will recall, Samantha was one of the first children to enter the LightHouse at Recreio in 2004.  She is now 19 years old. Back then no one liked Samantha or could stand to be close to her because of the strong smell of rejection and abuse upon her.  Prematurely born because of her father beating her mothers womb-the doctor said from the start, “This girl is no good, she will never speak, read, or write.”

But since she’s been at the LightHouse, God’s amazing LOVE has proved that wrong!  Before Samantha would grunt and scream to get her point across-never saying a word.  Today if you listen closely to her she will clearly tell you that her dream is to be a teacher at the LightHouse.    Now speaking, she is a co-leader in LH Recreio over the kitchen and general cleaning.2004

The Cry of Her Heart

As Samantha stayed the weekend in our home, we could hear her hearts cry for the salvation of her family. She loudly and fervently prays for them.  By the way her Bible is worn out and by the way she looks into her Bible, you would think she reads very well!  But not at all!  We ask that you also stand with us in prayer for Samantha to learn how to read and write.  We believe that God can do one more miracle in her life.  Oh how she wants to read so bad to be a teacher.

Thanks for your continued prayer for us & the kids!!

Samantha at home in our kitchen with the kids.Samantha visiting our home

As we have worked in Brazil we have seen our own children, Natalee (9) and Peter (8) feel the need to belong and be loved as well as the LH kids.  Not being too young to work for the Lord, they have each started their own  work.  Natalee’s work you will be hearing about by the beginning of next year.

Peter

Peter’s work started 6 weeks ago at our home , Lar da Paz.  Since we have lived in this home we have always had problems with the neighborhood street boys trying to get into our walled property after their kites, our mangos, etc. It wasn’t until we had one boy who made a bomb to make a hole in our wall to get in; that we decided we need to reach out to these boys and Peter and Dad would be responsible for this new soccer team.

Peter’s Locker Soccer Team

We  are teaching God’s Word, giving milk to take home, snacks and a lot of soccer to stay off the street.  And “Peter’s Locker” will be a sports store (jerseys, shorts, shoes, balls) that the kids can shop in for free after they make certain achievements in the club.

Our last meeting we had 8 boys and 3 girls give their hearts to Jesus!

If you would like to make a donation to get Peter’s Locker off and running

-please make donations to LightHouse International, memo: Peter’s Locker.  We need your help to get this sports Locker started!Peter's Locker Soccer Team

Children's Day Party

Dear Friend,

The last several months has been very hard on us.  We can feel that the enemy is constantly trying to do his dirty work that he always does-stealing, killing and destroying

We are seeking after the Lord for encouragement and hope in what we are doing here in Brazil.  Many times we feel like packing up when the pressure is so much.  When the seeds have been planted feel like they are taking forever to sprout up and be beautiful.

One thing that seems to encourage us is seeing these kids, like we did last week at our Children’s Day party, all of them singing praises to the Lord, praying fervent prayers, and all being very well mannered, polite, and thankful.

We ask that you lift us up in your prayers.  We won´t deny our discouragement right now, but in telling you we ask that you pray for us and for the small prayer list that we have noted down.

We pray that all is well with you.  And thank you for being a blessing in our lives and the lives of the kids here!

Pray for Workers

The family that was living inside the LightHouse Papagaio, Marcelino and Jozibel, have moved back to their hometown due to a death in their family.

Since they have left, Stephanie has been doing the daily teaching to the kids.  Which on one hand has been refreshing to be able to be in direct contact with the kids again.

On the other hand, we are in desperate need of more workers. The cost and time for us to drive daily to Papagaio, which is downtown, creates other difficulties.  With the other responsibilities of homeschooling Natalee and Peter, administrating the two LightHouses, as well as the maintaining communication with our friends and supporters back home, keeps us very busy.

So please be in prayer with us for more workers in the LightHouse Papagaio.

Natalee and Peter help out with the devotional lesson

You would think that a Children’s Day party would have lots of screaming, playing, receiving gift–well not at our party this year!

The kids have been studying about world missions in other countries this month.  At our party Pr. Junior gave his devotional and we noticed such a seriousness from the kids.  As we could all feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, we prayed and anointed the children.

Praise God for his precious peace and presence among us, which is an eternal gift!

 Celebrating our Birthdays as well!

By the way, our LigthHouse Papagaio kids got to join the party!! They had a blast!
