Dear Friend,
We praise God that in the slums of Brazil exists a hiding place for the youth here. Having a place that preserves their innocents, teaches purity, and defends those who are abused and neglected. We have seen our children at the LightHouse being protected from the wild whirlwinds of the wages of sin.
This month the kids dressed up like country folks for their birthday party celebration. Going fishing and playing pin-the-donkey, and all sorts of fun games. It is a blessing to see our kids in a haven such as the LightHouse in the peaceful presents of God, learning and growing.

Like a Lighthouse, let us be a beacon to this city…
The Recreio community has been very cruel recently. Within a 2 weeks time about 20 young people have been murdered here. All within the ages of 14 to 20. Several of them have been family of the kids in the LightHouse. Every death has been related to the using or dealing of drugs. Some have been killed for an unpaid drug debt as low as $2.00!
The day we had a meeting with our LH team agreeing to start weekly outreach meeting for the youth, was the same hour that we got news that one of our former LightHouse kids; Charlie, who’s 20 now, got shot in they eye. By the grace of God he is still alive yet lost his eye. Weeks before he was at our meeting and got ministered to. These young adults know God and love him, but don’t have the courage to step into a church.
Lord, like a lighthouse let us be a beacon to this city. May our arms be opened wide to all who come inside. This place of love and mercy for the lost.
May all who enter see the Holy Spirit meet their needs as the power of revival falls.
Amen!
